Mom didn't ask if I was all right; she merely took my children and sent them to their father, took them right out of my arms. My youngest son clung to me and Dad had to pull him away from me while AJ screamed and cried. Mom intervened again, dropping David Scott off on my doorstep and then leaving. At least he had his clothes packed. When he went to visit at Christmas, Mom decided he would be better off with her than with me, taking him out of my hands and deciding his fate. That ended badly. Mom believed that everyone would be better if she lived others' lives for them because she was better equipped to handle life - she was a vindictive and evil-minded woman, not to mention prejudiced and a bigot. But she is dead now and has been for over 6 years. I forgiven her after she died. I did not want that on my soul or in my heart ripping me apart, just as I have forgiven my siblings for the same reason. My mother stepped in and decided that they would benefit by being raised by someone that wasn't me. My Aunt Edith was correct in her decision to take her children back from Mom. I wish I had realized then what I know now, that my mother was a martinet and that I should stand up for myself and oppose her. I should have faced her and told her she was not the proper person to decide what would be best for MY children and to butt out. I should also have opposed her when she decided that I would not join the military; I would have been better off. But now I have to deal with my failures and my choices with the wisdom I have achieved now that I know what to expect.
Jacklyn Cornwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07703031152094274587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7051668.post-36224630968939391202019-02-15T10:46:46.700-07:002019-02-15T10:46:46.700-07:00You seem pretty open about your life, but please p...You seem pretty open about your life, but please pardon my asking; why did you give one of your sons up for adoption?GrayHeiselhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12510585725449119362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7051668.post-57044164922748064822019-02-15T09:32:52.321-07:002019-02-15T09:32:52.321-07:00Aunt Edit decided she did not want Mom raising her...Aunt Edit decided she did not want Mom raising her children. She saw the venom on the wall. I have three boys, four if you count the one I gave up for adoption. The boys are David Scott, Eddie, and AJ (Anthony James). The fourth I named Jaime Bohdan. Some SF Space Opera seems to forget about the story in favor of endless pages of nothing. It's very difficult to sustain a plot through numerous 500+ page books. (I'm afraid I have lost interest in The Expanse after the first couple of books.) That being said, what I find bothersome is Clark's constant use of beginning sentences with the word 'which' instead of using a comma and linking it with the previous phrase. Here's an example: I went to the store after work. Which is why I am late. For flow, it should read: I went to the store after work, which is why I am late. If this example were dialogue, then I have no problem. sigh..... I'm not trying to be critical but reading through this kind of stuff for more than 1500+ pages is a bit much...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06141637848268266378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7051668.post-29365794783405211402018-12-25T19:30:11.651-07:002018-12-25T19:30:11.651-07:00I don't think public education will ever cure ...I don't think public education will ever cure the Dems as long as they keep up lying and selling the same old crap. We cannot continue to let this nation turn into a bunch of delusional, conspiracy-toting, babbling bunch of buffoons who spew such crazy, ridiculous nonsense. It becomes clear how uneducated the author is within the first few sentences when he claims the Dems won the Senate, which they did not. The Dems won the House of Representatives, gaining approximately 40 seats, while they actually lost a few seats in the Senate. Since we changed our lifestyle—drastically—as of January of this year, we've been eating better because we are eating more home cooked meals and less processed foods. It's been a good step. Doesn't mean we never have pizza or eat out, but it's a rare occasion now because when we have eaten out, our bodies have rebelled and let us know they didn't like all the crap we ate. Plus, I've really gotten into cooking quite a bit, particularly RV cooking, since we gave up the house, got rid of 90% of our stuff, and hit the road to live, work, and travel full time to wherever we decide to go. RV cooking forces you to cook better and eat better, overall. Who knew?

My mom (adopted mom) died a couple years ago from Alzheimer's, and I wonder if she had eaten differently if maybe she would've lessened her chances of dying from the disease. I think she probably would've.

I came across a no-knead bread I really liked the end of last year. It's posted on my Nocturnal Baker Facebook page, if you're so inclined. Or you can find it on the King Arthur Flour website (I believe that's where I found it).

Also: I actually stopped in to tell you, belatedly, that I'm sorry about the loss of your grandson. We don't talk and haven't for years, I know, but I felt compelled to let you know how sorry I am over your loss.

Take care. Life is short. My friend Lyn died unexpectedly the first week of August from complications from a stomach blockage. It's caused me to reassess a lot of things.Mother of Crowshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03217977541466780592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7051668.post-84950744442398982062014-05-10T07:58:12.425-06:002014-05-10T07:58:12.425-06:00The story is not so great. But, the way it is told...The story is not so great. But, the way it is told is brilliant. It is full of surprises and a little suspense, but at the end, the story does not appear worth of remembering. It finely narrates some events that started some half a century ago and enter in the present. The journey of a man from the childhood in the fifties/sixties to getting aged in the present world has been well-depicted (Although the story has a jump in time for about 30/40 years).
There is a reality unknown to the narrator. The unwrapping of that reality is done fantastically. Besides, the issues raised in different contexts are extra-ordinary, unconventional. Everyday-things appear in new colors. So, it is an experience reading this novel.
I will recommend this work to all those in search of a different taste in reading, but not to those who are in search of a new story. At the end, I felt that I did not read the whole novel to reach at this event which was to me quite boring and unworthy of my labor reading it. Although, I was entertained by how the whole story was told. If you read what I said CAREFULLY, which is exactly what you are asking of your reader, you will see that I did NOT jump to any conclusions, label you or cast you as the villain. This is the blame game and is absolutely non constructive. I merely pointed out to you how a person may react to what you have said. If you can't accept what an outside opinion of your writing says, I'm afraid you may be dooming yourself to failure.
I love feedback on my writing, good and bad. I was only sharing this so you could think about it and ponder its usefulness within the framework of your longterm and overall goals. Writing, as making a movie, is essentially for an audience and every person will interpret it in a different way, usually not the way you meant it. It is important to take that into consideration.

Also, I clearly said IMHO, in my humble opinion. I definitely don't claim to be right. Just sharing my feelings. I apologize if that made you feel labeled. I was not speaking about the poor in general, but about my own experiences. Again, you would have to know me better and get to know me personally to make the judgment you just made.

The fact is that I have lived next door to and known from personal experience what it's like to go without for long periods of time and then finally have some money for what you have missed. It is human nature to gather as much as possible of what you've missed without looking too far down the road to when you will have exhausted your money and resources and come back to the same place you were before the rash of cash -- or food stamps or welfare money or bonus check or whatever.

It takes experience, maturity, and being taught that you will not miss anything if you give up the lobster in favor of what you could buy with the same dollars. The same goes for material goods as well. Just because you have the money now doesn't mean you will have the money later, as I have learned to my utter chagrin and embarrassment when it came time to pay the bills. All those things don't mean much when it comes time to pay the piper.

Although living comfortably on welfare is difficult, it can be done, and should be a spur to getting off the dole and into a job with a regular paycheck. Too late we learn that satisfying that desire for something is not so satisfying once it is yours and the bill comes due. It's the way for most people without someone to guide and train them and for the immature.

As you can see, there is more to me than your snap judgment. You have merely proven my point. You would have done better to ask than to judge.

As for the reason for this post, it wasn't my family this time, although that is a constant problem, but a group of people who took a comment on a post and turned it into a label war with me as the villain, in much the same way you have done, except with far more disrespect and vehemence. More often than not, it is better to simply ask what someone means rather than deciding you already know -- or think you know what it looks like.

I hope you will explore further. Feel free to ask questions. There are no stupid questions -- except the one you fail to ask.
Jacklyn Cornwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07703031152094274587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7051668.post-68132937369504413592013-08-06T14:43:28.089-06:002013-08-06T14:43:28.089-06:00I really enjoyed this post, even though it sounds ...I really enjoyed this post, even though it sounds like a rant after a recent run in with one of the shitty family members. I enjoyed it, because, I harbor many of those same feelings. And as much as I pretend not to care, it still hurts. It hurts that they won't support and love you for who you are and what you choose to do. It hurts to realize what a bunch of losers the people you grew up loving and idolizing really are. Life sucks sometimes, but fortunately, its mostly amazing and wonderful, as long as those people stay out of it.

I'm constantly amazed at how much my friends do for me and take care of me, while my "family" ignores or "misses" any communication that doesn't directly benefit them.

I would like to say, however, that INHO the last paragraph about your "independent" views, which reading them the way you wrote them makes it seem as if your politics hinge upon your disgust for the poor and needy (I know you will take issue with this and probably do not see yourself like this, I'm only telling you how it reads to a total stranger who accidentally stumbled upon your blog), would be best left off. And I did read the ENTIRE post. I see how it fits with the theme of labels, but it was like a nasty pinch at the end of what was an enjoyable post, and really has nothing to do with the main theme, whether you meant it or not, of being who you are, regardless of what family does to support you or not, and how family can be absent for years until something annoys them.

Cheers and happy blogging!!! the savage detectivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15446617863630726649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7051668.post-86043678313488481372013-05-29T01:07:33.742-06:002013-05-29T01:07:33.742-06:00<----------I like it your blog.awesome blog how... <----------I like it your blog.awesome blog how it is orgnize i totally impressed
thanks for sharing this

macbook pro, sell macbook pro, cash for apple macbooks
http://sellyourmacbookpro.com
online business coach, online business
advisor, online business, business coach, business advisor

http://carolminarcik.com/
octors in qatar, qatar doctors, dentists in qatar, clinics in qatar, hospitals in qatar

http://qatardoctors.qa/
Asif Ali Zamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08251709154632114267noreply@blogger.com
